Women
Anthropologie
Ladies, texture in your fabrics is a good thing. Flowy is good, especially for us new moms, but try to make sure it still fits well in the shoulders and chest. Accentuate your best qualities. Even if you are coming for a newborn session, you are gorgeous and strong and just grew a baby!! There's nothing more beautiful than that. Accessories such as a scarf or necklace are great, but don't overdo it with too many. Pick one great accessory (or two and we can switch it out throughout the session.) Also, heels (even small boot heels) are always a good idea! They elongate your legs and make your calves look great, even in pants.

Men
Banana Republic
Men, be sure to class it up a bit. Unless you're really after a sports picture, please don't wear your sports hoodies or golf shirts. Soft, classy dad photographs best! Also, your shoes matter! A good pair of leather shoes go a long way in your photographs. Form fitting pants are also a good idea.

General Tip:
Make sure you keep it simple when it comes to patterns. We don't want Mom, Dad and baby all competing for the loudest design! If someone has a patterned fabric, such as the women's dress above, you would want to pair that with a men's solid sweater, like the lighter blue one in the bottom right corner of the men's section above. The colors coordinate but aren't the exact hue.
